House Doctor:

Dr. James Milne has recently joined the Rideout/Williston team as the “house doctor”. He is available most weekday mornings from 7-8AM to meet with residents in their homes to provide prompt supports for routine issues.

The hope is that this enhanced access to primary care will allow for quick relief of simple ailments. It is also anticipated that being able to arrange routine studies for a new issue will support a resident’s GP in evaluating any changes to underlying chronic conditions.

Prompt in-house evaluation should also greatly reduce the dependence on ER or walk-in clinics for acute issues when a resident’s GP is unavailable. Although this program is not intended to replace a resident’s regular GP, we are hopeful that it will support and supplement the traditional GP-patient relationship.

Dr. Milne looks forward to meeting you for whatever issues you’re hopeful to have addressed! If you have a concern, simply notify the facility nurses, who are in contact with Dr. Milne each morning.
